When choosing the best electric airsoft pistol or AEP, you want to balance realism with accuracy. Oftentimes, an AEP will be more accurate than a gas blowback simply because of the consistency of an AEP. However, the gas blowbacks add a level of realism that the AEP can seldom compete with.

The AEP does have some advantages over gas blowbacks. For example, AEPs are definitely quieter than blowbacks, and for obvious reasons, this may come in handy during operations. AEPs also do not require gas, so weather will not affect their performance. AEPs will last longer on the field than blowbacks and magazines are generally less expensive.

Most AEPs have lower FPS than gas guns, so they are not always suitable for outdoor games where high gusts of wind may be a factor. However, these guns are quite formidable in any CQB type event.
